Phoenix Tears CBD | What they are, Benefits and Side Effects

With the growth of the CBD industry in the past year, you can see how tons of companies have started incorporating it in some products and oils. Phoenix tears is  a product that has been derived from research and the use of cannabis. Phoenix tears oil’s main characteristic mainly focuses on benefiting the human body and has shown positive results in the past.

Since it has been legalised, the use of CBD oil in medical professions has also skyrocketed, but the use of CBD oil also has benefits and side effects. Research has been conducted to find out if it is safe for human and pet use and if  CBD oil is safe for kids.

Phoenix Tears is a product of this research and was notably discovered and created by a man called Rick Simpson. The oil is pure and uses cannabis strains such as indica and sativa in its manufacturing.

Here we will discuss all there is to know about Phoenix Tears, its benefits and side effects.

Rick Simpson and the Start of RSO Oil

Any post about Phoenix Tears can’t be started without mentioning Rick Simpson. He created a BETA test version of what Phoenix Tears is today. In 2003 Rick was diagnosed with basal cell carcinoma, a type of skin cancer. He read study after study but soon came across one from the Journal of the National Cancer Institute that issued their results on how THC could kill cancer cells in mice.

Already a fan of medical cannabis, Rick started researching how he can treat his skin cancer with cannabis oil. And according to Simpson, he created his homemade extract called Rick Simpson oil, known as RSO. He applied it to his moles formed by cancer and covered them in bandages. He removed the bandages after four days and claimed that the growths had disappeared.

Due to his “crimes’ he is currently living in Europe and can’t enter the United States due to his criminal background issued by the Canadaian Government.

CBD Oil and Cannabis

What is Phoenix Tears?

Phoenix Tears cannabis oils are used for their medicinal properties. Regular doses of it have been shown to treat a range of conditions and symptoms. In simpler terms, it is a strong and concentrated form of cannabis extraction. Since Phoenix drops are so potent that it’s recommended usage should only be for those who don’t mind the psychoactive effects, or those who are looking for a ‘high’ when getting treatment.

The reason why it’s so popular is that it doesn’t take much to extract the oil, and only requires a few household items. The method to make the oil can be found  here.

Working up to the recommended dosage is a slow progress, especially since your body would need time to adapt to it. On Rick Simpson’s website, there are clear instructions for this process. You start off with smaller dosages and as your body gets used to the high THC levels, you slowly increase it. The dosage information can be found here.

What is the Difference Between Phoenix Tears CBD and Regular CBD Oils?

CBD oil is mostly produced from hemp plants as it contains more CBD than marijuana, while Phoenix Tears is extracted from cannabis plants and has a high THC volume. In early research it was discovered that the medicinal effects of CBD increases when it’s combined with other cannabinoids. Whereas with Phoenix Tears, Simpson has claimed that his oils are only 2%-6% CBD, but the emphasis is on the THC content that needs to be high.

A lot of people believe that CBD oils are only for epileptic patients and Phoenix Tears are only for cancer patients, but earlier research has discovered that CBD possesses cancer-inhibiting properties in some tumor types. Since cannabis is still prohibited in certain countries, research on this topic specifically is still preliminary.

As a side note, it should be noted that products such as hemp oil and hemp seed oil are not related to Phoenix Tears as these products contain no CBD or THC.

With all the information, one common difference between the two remains. RSO is highly intoxicating because of the THC. In basic terms you can get high from RSO but not from purely CBD oils.

Benefits of Phoenix Tears THC

The main trait of the product is that it is believed to help fight cancer, but some users have claimed that it can also aid in the treatment of other conditions such as:

  • High blood pressure
  • Infections
  • Chronic Inflammation
  • Arthritis
  • Asthma
  • Drug addiction
  • Depression
  • Multiple sclerosis

Since there is a lack of research on Phoenix Tears, experts are a lot more reserved when talking about it’s benefits but research is ongoing to see if these claims are concrete.

Side Effects of Phoenix Tears

These side effects are based on taking a high dosage of the product and some can affect the brain:

  • Anxiety
  • Paranoia
  • Panic attacks
  • Irritability
  • Disorientation
  • Dry/red eyes
  • Dizziness
  • Low blood pressure
  • Impaired memory
  • Sleeping troubles

These side effects can be seen as an effect of the high levels of THC. The effects are temporary and you will feel normal as soon as the high wears off. The high differs from person to person and can last up to four hours if your body has not yet built up a tolerance for the high THC.

Final Thoughts on Phoenix Tears

Based on all the information, the usage of RSO can be tricky. Yes it is believed to have exceptional qualities and benefits, but the side effects, although temporary, should be considered before taking a leap at it.

Since the research is still underway, anything is still possible. But it can’t be ignored any longer. It is believed that with the advancement made with CBD oils in recent years, they will start to look deeper into THC and the development of Phoenix Tears will advance.
